"Dress Design for Shabby Apple dresses'

I recently came across a design contest for the ultimate bridesmaid gown for the "shabby apple dresses" http://www.shabbyapple.com/. My interpretation of a spring inspired bridesmaid gown involves bright colors and my favorite..... lace. In many cases bridesmaid gowns are very plain usually created with taffeta or satin, it is very rare to see a gown that really and truly compliments the bride. The gown I have designed has a cream lace bodice and a Terra cotta taffeta skirt. The colors compliment one another perfectly for a spring or summer wedding. The bodice is fitted with cap sleeves along with a ruffled neckline that is Terra cotta to coincide with the color of the skirt. The skirt is knee length and full to create a slight bell affect.

Working in the Bridal industry I have seen everything under the sun when it comes it gowns, but other than incorporating wedding colors into the bridesmaids ensemble there is very little resemblance to the brides gown. This gown bridges the gap between bridesmaid and bride.
